Harbour Island’s sugary beaches stretch languidly beside clear turquoise seas, offering the perfect setting for a laid-back holiday. The pristine three-mile Pink Sand Beach is rated as one of the finest in the world.

Region: Bahamas

Overview

This delightful isle, today known as Briland by the locals, was once the capital of the Bahamas before Nassau inherited the title. The island’s only town, Dunmore Town, is one of the oldest areas in the Bahamas. Here, you’ll find quaint pastel-colored buildings, and Hill Steps, cut from stone.

Harbour Island offers a veritable treasure trove of marine life off its shores.  Colorful fish, turtles, and stingrays swim amid the island’s magnificent coral reefs, such as Devil's Backbone. It is little wonder, then, that the island is a favorite among divers.

What To Do

Explore the multi-colored marine life and coral beneath the sea at Current Cut Dive, considered one of the best dive sites on earth.
